4 Him in Africa Ministries Inc. has devoted much of our ministry to educating pastors and church leaders. We believe that the church in Uganda will grow more potent if the pastors have an opportunity to study the word of God. The apostle Paul wrote to Timothy about this very thing in 2nd Timothy 2:2. “And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” Our mission trips have always included pastor training, but we have found that many of our pastors were ready to take their education to a higher level. Thankfully we have had the privilege of sending some of the pastors who meet the education requirements to attend the Uganda Baptist Seminary (UBS).
The seminary has worked with us to help make this education available to pastors unfamiliar with the experience of living on campus and attending a more structured environment. It is a blessing to watch them grow in so many ways. The cost of the seminary education for our pastors is covered by the sponsors who volunteer to pay the fees for the pastor we partner them with. The Ugandan pastor is responsible for managing the affairs at home while they are away at school.
Getting the proper documents to verify that one of our pastors meets the educational requirements can take a while. Once the seminary has the documentation and excepts the pastor as a student, they give them the schedule so they can prepare to be away from their family. The seminary’s schedule is created with these things in mind so that the pastor can succeed in completing their degree. Our sponsors’ faithfulness also dramatically affects the growth and potential success of completing their schooling.

We have pastors attending at several degree levels, so we maintain our connection with the seminary throughout the year; This has helped us build a relationship with UBS, so we visit the school as part of our Ugandan mission trips. One of the recent mission teams attended a graduation ceremony at UBS, described as a most memorable event.
We would happily share more information if you would like to discuss becoming a seminary student sponsor.

In Uganda Bibles are scarce, and in a world of poverty most people cannot afford one. Without a bible or pastor who knows sound doctrine, the Ugandan people cannot validate which teachings are truth and which teachings are false. Without supporters, we have no way to help newcomers avoid being led astray by false teachings and remember that false teaching here is spreading like wild fire.
